Student testimonials
I completed the permanent makeup education: 3D brows, eyeliner, and lips. This is simply the best training place.
Alexandra is the perfect instructor — calm and guiding in every respect.
High-quality, well-documented, long-lasting products for permanent makeup. I can and will recommend this place at any time.
-- Pia Hansen from Massage & Velvære
Always great service. If I’m unsure about anything, I can always write and get a good, serious reply very quickly. I have taken 3 different courses there. Very serious and effective learning. And once you pass, you can always call if you are in doubt about something. A big recommendation from me.
-- Mille Thomsen from Vejle
From the very beginning I felt comfortable and satisfied with the courses, products, and service. And when I have doubts and write to Aleksandra, I always get a useful answer that exudes professional knowledge and help. Between the lines I also feel Aleksandra’s care and time.
I usually pick up my goods myself so we can say hello in person. 5 big stars from me.

Who can enroll in the Permanent Makeup program?
The Permanent Makeup program at PMU-line & Dermatech-Group is open to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in this exciting and fast-growing field.
No specific professional background is required – only your motivation, willingness to learn, and interest in aesthetics, precision, and beauty.
Many of our students come from cosmetology, hairdressing, or healthcare, but this is by no means a requirement to get started.
The most important thing is that you are ready to engage and set aside time for practice.
Learning classic micropigmentation is best compared to learning a craft – or mastering the art of writing – it takes dedication, training, and patience to reach a professional level.
A rewarding and meaningful journey
Do not be discouraged by the learning process.
Our program is designed to be both rewarding, inspiring, and personally meaningful – a journey where you grow professionally, creatively, and personally.
Permanent Makeup is not just about technique – it is about creating beauty, balance, and confidence in other people.
Requirements and prerequisites
The program has no formal entry requirements, but it does require a certain motor control and eye for detail.
Having experience with drawing or visual work can be an advantage, but it is by no means a prerequisite.
We have had many students who started with no experience – and who, with commitment, practice, and professional support, developed into skilled and in-demand micropigmentation artists.
Age does not matter.
We welcome students of all ages to our foundational Permanent Makeup program – whether you dream of a new career or want to expand your existing skills.
Program structure and duration
The Permanent Makeup program is structured as an intensive, professional pathway combining solid theory with extensive practical training.
The full program comprises 50 hours of theoretical instruction and 110 hours of practical training for each specialty you choose – including home practice on training skins.
1. Mandatory Subject Course – required and only once
The Mandatory Subject Course must be completed only once, regardless of how many specialties you take.
It covers the essential fundamentals of anatomy, hygiene, safety, color theory, and pigment understanding.
It includes interactive tests. It introduces you to the field and prepares you for a longer course that meets the strict new rules and requirements that came into force on July 1, 2021.
You can start the Mandatory Subject Course by appointment.
Once you have completed the Mandatory Subject Course and passed the test, you may choose a specialty (Brows, Lips, Eyeliner, or Scalp) and enroll in the mandatory course in cosmetic tattooing.
Duration: 1 day at the school.
See more about the course here.
2. Mandatory Hygiene Course – required and only once
Hygiene course for cosmetic tattooists – Mandatory Training in Safety and Health
Attending a hygiene course for tattooists is not only a legal necessity but also an investment in your professional future and your clients’ safety.
With the highest hygiene standards, you will be trained to prevent infections and handle tattooing equipment correctly so both the workplace and the tattooing process meet the latest requirements from the Danish Patient Safety Authority.
3. Specialty modules (Brows, Lips, Eyeliner, Scalp)
For each specialty – Brows, Lips, Eyeliner, and Scalp – both a theoretical and a practical part are included, ensuring a complete understanding of treatment principles, techniques, and aesthetics.
Teaching is structured as an inspiring combination of classroom instruction, live demonstrations, model work, and independent exercises, so you gradually build both technical precision and artistic confidence.
Duration:
Up to 6 months at the school with a total minimum of 160 hours, depending on your pace, experience, and the number of specialties selected.
4. Examination and certification
After completing the instruction, the program concludes with a final examination that combines both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
The exam consists of an oral, written, and practical component, where you demonstrate your understanding of techniques, safety, aesthetics, and client management.
When you pass the exam, you receive your internationally recognized certificate as proof of your competence and professionalism as a micropigmentation artist.
Duration: 2 days of 6–8 hours each.

Specialty:
Brows, Lips, Eyeliner or Scalp

Program duration and meeting days
The program typically runs over 15–20 class days, depending on your pace and skills, and must be completed within 6 months.
Classes are usually held on Tuesdays from 10:00–15:00.
The days combine theory, exercises on paper and artificial skin, as well as model work, and all necessary teaching materials are provided along the way.
Online learning and home practice
You get access to an online learning universe with:
-
Theory materials and course binder

Exam and preparation
Before the exam, you must continuously practice the techniques learned and submit before-and-after photos of your work to your instructor.
You will then receive personal feedback and professional sparring so you are as well prepared as possible for the final test.
Exam content
You are examined in both theory and practice:
-
Theoretical part: Written exam
-
Practical part: Homework assignment and treatment on a model at the training venue
The practical exam is scheduled once you have completed at least 10 model treatments on your own.
Your exam date is then arranged in collaboration with the training venue.

The exam day typically lasts from 09:00 to 15:00.
The training venue helps find models for your exam.
After passing, you receive an internationally accredited CPD certificate, documenting your professional competencies and qualifying you to work professionally as a cosmetic tattooist.
The certificate is approved by KKBU and meets the Danish Safety Technology Authority’s requirements for the mandatory education.
It is important that the certificate is visible at your workplace, as the authority may ask to see documentation during a potential inspection visit.

Ultimately, everything is about the client’s individual needs and the best possible result.
When a client has special requests or challenges, it shows professional integrity and respect to refer them to the right specialist – rather than risking a result that neither practitioner nor client will be happy with.

Only through collaboration can we ensure that every client receives the experience, quality, and reassurance she deserves.
Together we raise the standard for permanent makeup – for the benefit of the entire industry and the people we are here for: the clients.
